Jyllands Park Zoo

“Hello, my furry (and human) friends! Yesterday, my humans surprised me with a visit to Jyllands Park Zoo, and I have to say… it was quite an adventure! I met animals I’d only heard stories about, made some rather unusual new acquaintances, and even learned that not everyone smells as wonderful as dogs do.

First Things First… Water! Before I tell you about the animals, I have to give the zoo a big paw of approval. 🐾They have a drinking water station just for dogs! Fresh water runs from a tap straight into a bowl, so whenever I got thirsty, I could stop for a lovely cool drink. It’s little things like this that make a dog feel truly welcome.

The Clever Seals... We arrived just in time to watch the seals being fed, and they were incredible! They dived, splashed, spun around, and showed off all kinds of clever tricks to earn their fish. I was very impressed. Then I noticed the cutest little baby seal. It popped out of the water, looked straight at me, lifted one tiny flipper an …I’m almost certain it waved at me! Of course, I wagged my tail back. For one special moment, it felt like we’d become friends. Although I was secretly quite happy we didn’t have to greet each other nose to nose… Fish breath is not really my favourite perfume!

The Donkey with the Giant Ears... As we walked around, I suddenly came face to face with a donkey. Now… I don’t mean to be rude …but have you seen their ears? I stared.He stared. I tilted my head. He didn’t. I couldn’t stop wondering… “Can you catch the weather forecast before everyone else?” He didn’t answer. He simply carried on looking very wise, probably wondering why this fluffy golden retriever visitor was asking such difficult questions.

The Great Penguin Staring Contest... Then we visited the penguins. At first, I thought they hadn’t noticed me. Oh… how wrong I was. One penguin looked. Then another. Then another. Before I knew it, nearly all of them had waddled over to stare at me! Apparently, dogs are quite fascinating. Now, I wasn’t going to let a bunch of fish-smelling birds think they were the centre of my world. So I sat down, looked in completely the opposite direction, and pretended they didn’t exist. “Penguins? What penguins?” Of course… I may have looked at them… Just a tiny bit… From the corner of my eye. Only because I wanted to make sure they weren’t planning anything suspicious. And definitely not because they were adorable. Besides… They smelled like fish. Really, really fishy.

So, we had such a lovely day exploring the zoo. There were so many amazing animals to discover, friendly paths to wander along, and thoughtful little touches... like fresh water from tap for dogs.”
