Pawsome Denmark is made by dog owners, for dog owners. We keep it simple: no ads, no cookies, only anonymous visit statistics – and beyond that we only collect what you choose to send us.
We don't use ads and we set no cookies. That's why we have no cookie pop-up either, and you can use the site without logging in.
To know which places and pages are useful, we count visits anonymously on our own server – no external analytics services are used. When you open a page, we store the page's name, the time, your language choice, which country the visit comes from, and which website referred you, if any. We also count clicks on things like share buttons, category filters and links to the venues' websites. To tell visitors apart we use an anonymous daily number computed from your IP address and browser with a secret key that changes every day: your IP address is not stored in the statistics, the number cannot be traced back to you, and it cannot recognise you from one day to the next. If your browser asks not to be tracked ("Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control), we don't count you at all.
We only collect the information you enter yourself when you use one of the forms on the site:
You decide what you write. Please don't submit information you don't want shared.
To keep bots and spam out, we briefly store your IP address when you send a form. It is used solely to limit the number of submissions and is deleted automatically again after a short time. It is not linked to your identity.
Please note: Once a review, a dog's name or a photo is published, it is visible to everyone on the site. So don't send photos or text you don't want shown.
When you send a review, the text and any photos are sent to the language-model service Claude (Anthropic PBC, USA), which does two things: checks whether the content is offensive or dangerous, and translates your text into Danish, English and German so other dog owners can read it. If everything is fine, the review is published immediately. If anything is questionable — or the check cannot be completed — it waits until we have looked at it ourselves.
We review all content afterwards, usually the same or the next day, and remove anything that doesn't belong. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. Please don't write anything in a review that you don't want passed on for that processing.
The information is stored on our own server in Denmark. Contact messages are sent to our email. Apart from the automatic check described above, we never sell or pass on your information to others.
You have the right to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you – including having a review or photo you submitted removed. Write to us via the contact form and we'll help you.
We may update this policy as the site develops. We'll note significant changes on the site.
