“You know you’ve found a good restaurant when they notice the dog first. Well… almost. 😄
As soon as I walked into Fanø Krogaard with my humans, the lovely staff brought me a bowl of fresh water without anyone even asking. That’s the sort of welcome that makes my tail wag before my humans have even looked at the menu.
I’ve been here more than once because, apparently, my humans keep wanting to come back. (I suspect the food has something to do with it.)
One visit we sat inside the restaurant. It was calm, cosy, and I happily settled down while my humans enjoyed their meal. Another time we chose the terrace, where I could watch people, sniff the sea breeze, and keep an eye out for any suspicious seagulls plotting to steal someone’s lunch.
The kind people working here didn’t just bring me fresh water again ... they stopped to say hello and gave me some lovely fuss. I always appreciate humans who understand that a Golden Retriever deserves a little admiration.
Sadly, my humans refused to share their dinner. They kept saying things like, “Wilma, that’s not for dogs.” Very unfair if you ask me. Still, judging by all the smiling, the “Mmm…” sounds, and the fact that their plates were completely empty, I’d say the food must have been excellent.
What I loved most about Fanø Krogaard wasn’t just that dogs are allowed... it was that dogs are genuinely welcomed. There’s a big difference, and you can feel it the moment you arrive.
So, if you’re exploring beautiful Fanø with your favourite human, this is definitely a place to put on your sniff-and-visit list.
