At 18 of the places I'm welcome outdoors – in the courtyard or on the terrace, which is plenty on a summer day. Whether you're after brunch with a dog or just a cup of coffee, it's worth ringing ahead: rules can change, and a busy Saturday may look different from a quiet Tuesday.
