There's both city and coast here. 10 dog-friendly cafés and restaurants welcome me, among them Aarhus Street Food and the market hall at Nicolinehus, and if we're staying the night there are 7 campsites and hotels with room for a dog.

If you're after activities with a dog, there are 8 attractions – Djurs Sommerland, Tivoli Friheden and Gorilla Park among them – and 8 museums such as Den Gamle By, Moesgaard and the frigate Jylland. 4 castles and manor houses have open parks where I'm allowed along, and Mols Bjerge National Park has room for long walks. At 29 of the places I have to be on a leash, and at 10 I'm welcome outdoors. Do remember that rules can change – give the place a ring if we're driving a long way.
