“Hi, I’m Wilma!
I recently took my humans on a wonderful adventure to Hjerl Hede Open-Air Museum, and I think they enjoyed it almost as much as I did!
The whole place feels like stepping back to the 1800s, with old farmhouses, workshops, friendly people in traditional clothes, and beautiful countryside to explore. There was something interesting around every corner.
The best part? Dogs are really welcome here! I found fresh water stations around the museum, dog waste bag dispensers, and the restaurant even had water bowls at different heights for dogs big and small. Now that’s proper VIP treatment!
I wasn’t allowed inside the old historic houses, but I completely understand—they’re full of precious furniture and old treasures. While one of my humans explored inside, I happily waited outside with the other, soaking up all the interesting smells.
We also visited the bakery… and let me tell you, it smelled AMAZING. My humans couldn’t resist the fresh bread and cookies. Then they stopped at the dairy and bought traditional butter. Sadly… none of it was for me. (I forgive them… this time.)
My funniest moment came in the wool workshop. A lovely lady dressed just like people from the 1800s proudly showed us beautiful yarn… made from dog hair!
I froze. Then I slowly looked at my humans. “Just so we’re clear… nobody is turning my fluffy coat into socks… right?”
If you’re looking for a place where history comes alive and dogs are made to feel welcome, I’d definitely wag my tail and recommend Hjerl Hede. It was a pawsome day out!”
