“🐾 Some adventures are all about exploring. Others are about making sure your human gets back to the car. This one was a little bit of both.
When we visited Lyngvig Lighthouse, I knew it was going to be a good day the moment I smelled the salty sea air. Everywhere I looked there were sandy paths, beautiful dunes, and the sound of the wild North Sea crashing onto the beach. Now that’s my kind of soundtrack!
We spent ages walking along the beach. The waves were big, the wind was blowing through my fur, and every few metres there was a brand-new smell to investigate. I even found a few interesting sticks… although, for some reason, my humans never let me bring home the really enormous ones.
Then it was time to head back. The path from the beach climbs up through the dunes… My human looked at the hill. The hill looked back. And suddenly… those legs weren’t feeling quite as energetic anymore. So I did what every loyal Golden Retriever would do.
I gave a determined pull on my leash and became my human’s personal four-legged mountain guide. Step by step… Paw by paw… We made it all the way to the top! I’m not saying I deserved an extra biscuit afterward … but I’m not saying I didn’t either.
After our little rescue mission, we stopped at the charming shop by the lighthouse. Even better, dogs are welcome inside! While my humans browsed the lovely gifts and local treasures, I happily wandered around, greeting everyone and making sure they knew a very good girl had arrived.
Lyngvig Lighthouse is a wonderful place for dogs and humans alike. Beautiful beach walks, dramatic sea views, fresh salty air, a dog-friendly shop, and plenty of space to explore make it a perfect day out.
